This is a large scale woodblock print. It was carved by hand on a piece of cherry wood and then printed on masa paper using oil based ink.
The design was created after a trip to an island off of the Florida coast. I was inspired by the large roots of the mangroves and the seashells scattered about and the feeling of being engulfed by the beautiful natural scenery.
